Langkawi - 2008.08.11 - Day I - Site Visit

Our site visit this time was to Langkawi! I've never been there before, so I was super excited! But come to think of it, majority of the class have never been there before, so I'm not alone. =P

11 Aug 08 - 'Cloud-full' Monday!

Our flight was 8:10am in the morning as we have to reach Langkawi before 12 for briefing. But of course as usual, the whole thing started around 3pm.

This is the second time we all took Airasia together! Syok >.< Photobucket
AA looks so much better after changing their seats to semi-leather.

Photobucket
Just for illustration purposes. Might not be same as the real food.

Photobucket
P-P-P-Peeenny! Few seats in front from us, but still can hear their voices. lol.

The sky that day was just breath-taking! It's like we're sailing on the clouds.

Photobucket
No end to it.

Photobucket
This one's really cute! Everything's flat and suddenly there's a huge lump of cloud in d middle!

Photobucket
the sea of clouds + the awkward protuding clouds + another layer of clouds at the top! Sandwiched!

Photobucket
more pwetty clouds!

Photobucket
Reaching Langkawi and we're decending underneath the clouds.
This one looks like we're floating upside down!

Photobucket
our seatings never change. hehe.
I remembered our previous flight to Kuching we also sat the same place taking the same kind of pictures. =P (aeroplan taking off/decending phobia pictures.. hehe)

After reaching Langkawi, there was a coach waiting for us to bring us to our 'hotel'. Looks so like the road to Layang-Layangan in Labuan. Lots of wooden houses and trees and cows.

Before I continue, the place we're staying is at Citin Hotel (budget hotel). I don't think it deserves the label hotel lor, motel is more like it. So misleading. I cannot eleborate how *cringes* the hotel is. But, can't complain cause it was considered the cheapest among all our options, and also it can house 100+ of us.

When me and baoxin checked into our room, omg. We were absolutely speechless. The paint was peeling off the walls, and there's a hole at the ceiling where you can stare into nothingness (which also makes ur imagination goes wild), the toilet is dingy and creepy cause there's filthy handprints on the wall and there's this unrecognizable stain on our bedsheets which.. I don't wanna think about it.

At the end, we requested to change to a nearer room with Penny and Angugu so we can have midnight chats or something. The room was, hm.. better than the previous one in some ways. The bedsheet is stain free.

*Mr. Class Rep if you're reading this no offence. We still love you! Just not the 'hotel'*

Before breifing we have another 3 hours or so to kill. The guys went to rent the cars and us girls just laze around at the hotel. 1 hours later they, came back with 2 QQ's! lol. omg. I heard of rumours that QQ can't go uphill, and woah. after this trip I can tell you that IT IS NOT A RUMOUR! -_- More about that later.

For lunch, we had KFC cause ALL THE SHOPS ARE NOT OPEN! Oh my their KFC is really nice, and it's tax-free! Their price are cheaper actually round figures like RM10, RM3 etc. =P so suka.

After that we went for briefing at Eagle Square (damn we totally forgot to take picture with the humogous eagle). And onwards to our actual site (which the lecturer changed numerous times -_-)

look at jac's bottle. hahaha~

Ok about the 2 QQ cars. The journey to our site was not exactly straight. Uphill downhill curves and all. And for those who do not know, QQ only have 0.8 CC. And there were 5 passengers at that time. So we were happily heading uphill when a call arrived saying that it might be the wrong way, so we stopped, right there on an uphill road! And when the driver pressed the gas, it would not move! Even wanna U-turn back down also cannot cause it doesn't have enough horsepower. -_- So everybody had to get down from the car THEN only it can turn. Very slow summore. And the driver said already press till the max tim.

And after that glorious incident, one of our friend told us that the road to the cable cars also have to go through lots of slopes. damn! But don't worry, there's a solution to this. All you have to do is just 'chong' all the way to the top without stopping or braking. Only way for it to have enough power. DANGEROUS!

So what I'm trying to say is, NEVER RENT OR BUY QQ CARS.

Ok back to the topic. Reached our site and it was a fish farm. The whole area basically is a fishing village. And our project is to propose a fishery museum and site office here.

Anyway, our site analysis presentation was suppose to be on Wed but the lects suddenly move it till the next day!! So everybody was rushing like mad sketching and compiling the boards.

Photobucket
We didn't have enough space at the hotel so we moved our stuff to the mamak nearby. Luckily they're still open since it's past midnight.

Photobucket
Had supper. The mee goreng and roti canai nicee.
